Research Question:  Why are Somali weddings so complex?

Thesis:  Despite the fact somali people had to leave their country, they still managed to keep their culture alive by having phenomenal and complex weddings, special dances to express themselves,  and eat the same delicious food.

  • Topic Sentence #1:  One major part of of Somali culture are  the dances, because they are so complex and show people how proud Somalia is
  • Topic Sentence #2: Somali food includes elaborate meals at lunch, special meals during Ramadan, but not many desserts.
  • Topic Sentence #3:  In Somalia weddings are a very big deal, and even though the parents decide who marries their children the night of the wedding is always a happy night

    Very good job Hamdi! I really liked the different images as they ere very meaningful and went well with the project. Also your ending was very powerful and also very true! I thought you could have gone a little slower while recording but other than that it was a great presentation.

    Hamdi your ending was AMAZING and so powerful but I didn’t see how it really related to Somalian weddings. I still loved it. You spoke clearly and the images you chose went well with your topic and informative. Amazing Hamdi

    Your video was very well done!! Your slides were meaningful and the pictures portrayed a message as well as being relevant to what you were saying. The ending was well put and brought a perfect ending to your project. Although, at some points I feel like you should have said more about certain elements (such as the flag). Good job Hamdi!
