Research Question: Why Was Mansa Musa So Rich?

Thesis: Mansa Musa became very rich by ruling Mali and at the time of his rule mali had lots of gold and also controlled trade routes throughout the Sahara.

Topic Sentence #1: A part of the reason Mansa Musa was so rich was that he ruled Mali for a long time.

Topic Sentence #2: Mali had lots of natural resources including gold which Musa spent freely so much that it really changed the course of world history.

Topic Sentence #3: Another reason Musa was rich was of his control of trade routes throughout Western Africa.
